Event attended by well-known and respected personalities
Durham school officially announced opening event for girl’s school. For this event, Minister of Education HE and Higher education Dr. Mohamad Abdul Wahed Ali Al-Hammadi and large number of parent.
In this event, many head girls performed speeches in English and Arabic as well as all other performances happened. Location of the school is at excellent level for the families who wants British Education for their daughters as per their culture in the society. At this phase, the school opened admission for Foundation Stage and Primary School from years 1-7 and will be accepting admission for Secondary School classes in 2020.
At this opening event, Samantha Whay-Jenkins, director of Admissions and Marketing at Durham School for Girls Doha, said, “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response represented by over 560 enrolled students, the biggest school roll for an opening school in Qatar, a testament to our strong alignment with the needs of the Qatari society. We are honoured to welcome HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi for our official opening, and I look forward to welcoming all parents and their girls for admissions as we embark upon an exceptional journey here at Durham School for Girls Doha.”
Activities involved for girl’s education
All girls are encouraged to participate in the schools co–curricular programme that covers variety of activities including sports programme, extensive visual and performance arts opportunities, crafts, cookery, eco-club, robotics and leadership activities and involved in national and international activities.
