Walsh University is one of the leading and most admired universities in Ohio. The roots of the University date back to 1960, when the Brothers of Christian Instruction had a vision to turn 50 acres in North Canton, Ohio, into a thriving college. Established as a liberal arts college, Walsh College became Walsh University in 1993. From two buildings in 1960, it has grown to 27 buildings on 136 acres. Inspired by the founders’ deep Catholic commitment, the University is on a mission of providing servant leadership and values-based education.
Wide Array of Academic Programs
Presently, Walsh University provides students with more than 100 academic programs including undergraduate, graduate, professional certificates, and doctorates in physical therapy and nursing practice. The University discovered new ways such as Virtual town hall meetings, physically distanced social events, the addition of new gathering spaces on campus, and many more to deliver the Walsh experience even during the pandemic.
Revamping the Programs
In the wake of the pandemic, the University introduced 10 new majors and converted its entire academic calendar from a traditional 16-week semester to one that encompasses two 8-week sessions.
