The national program will train and award $3000 to the topper student including 30 Stop The Bleed kits
On average, blood bleeds out in 2 to 5 minutes while the blood-clotting process takes 8 to 15 minutes to start. Approximately 40% of trauma-related deaths worldwide are due to bleeding or its consequences, establishing hemorrhage as the most common cause of preventable death in trauma.
Considering the lack of medical approach on the spot, SAM Medical, an industry leader in the pre-hospital, trauma care market, has teamed up sponsoring National Stop the Bleed Day to award a total of $20,000 in scholarships to students.
